Environmental and gas monitoring guidance for audited field teams
Contact Vaisala

Send the measurement question, not just a part number.

Vaisala contact routing is designed for engineers, HSE leaders, utility teams and service planners who need a defensible recommendation. Include the application, measurement range, approval region and certificate expectation so the first response can be practical.

What to include in a request

A strong inquiry gives the advisor enough information to avoid generic catalog replies. For environmental and gas monitoring, describe the gas or environmental parameter, expected range, response time requirement, installation location and alarm or reporting use. If the device will be used in a hazardous area, include the Zone, gas group and temperature class expected by the site. If the project involves utility metering, mention the pipe size, billing rules, MID or EN 1434 expectation and communication interface.

For process instrumentation, include the medium, pressure or temperature range, output signal such as 4-20 mA or HART, enclosure requirement and whether IP67 or other field protection is necessary. For sensors and transmitters, explain the mounting condition, wiring preference, data logger or control system connection and service access. For test and measurement instruments, clarify whether the tool supports installation, commissioning, verification or audit evidence.

The form below is intentionally broad because measurement programs differ. A refinery safety team may need ATEX/IECEx wording and bump-test documentation. A building team may need CO2 and particulate monitoring for HVAC commissioning. A district utility may need billing-grade meter documentation. A plant maintenance team may need a replacement sensor that fits an existing cabinet without changing the whole control loop. The more clearly the request describes that context, the more useful the answer becomes.
